Meet The J.T. Horns!
The shredding guitar licks of the JT Horns come courtesy of guitarist Saul Kaye. Saul started playing piano at the age of 5 and guitar at age 12. He has been composing original music since childhood. After attending Berklee College of Music, he started the rock/fusion band PNEUMA in 1995. After 2 C.D.s and some touring with PNEUMA Saul branched into jazz and has been exploring other styles ever since. Saul has studied with the world famous flamenco guitarist Juan Serrano, Dave Creamer, Calvin Keys, Al Defino, Jeff Massanari, and Richard Sprouss. He currently plays 15-20 gigs a month in the Bay Area with styles ranging from jazz trio Gigs, to solo classical, mexican folkloric, flamenco, piano bar style singer-songwriter gigs, to Klezmer and Funk. Saul played on 2 C.D.'s released by the Blue N' Tan (an original electric jazz quartet) in 1998 and 1999. He has toured to China twice with the swing band String of Pearls, playing in front of crowds up to 6000 people and appearing on a national T.V. broadcast. He has played various festivals including the North Beach Jazz Fest (with Manifest Yesterday in 97) and the Marin County 4th of July Festival (with a jazz duo). Saul's original jazz quartet played the Fillmore in September 2001 (see video clips on the web site www.saulkaye.com) He can be seen playing every Thursday at the House of Shields playing Kurt Ribak's original jazz compositions. Saul continues to compose original jazz compositions, pop songs, and music for film and theater.
