John Tabler

Musical director, arranger, and namesake of the J.T. Horns, John Tabler is not only a versatile and accomplished musician, but a skilled electrical and sound engineer. Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, John is the former leader of the Atlanta Braves/Turner Field pep band. John also led his own Atlanta based 11-piece R&B, funk and blues band, modeled after Tower of Power. John has performed in numerous big bands, orchestras, brass ensembles, and Jazz combos. His arrangements and original compositions for big bands have been performed at the International Association of Jazz Educators conference. As skilled behind the scenes as he is on stage, John also worked for four years as the chief audio engineer of the Georgia Tech Center for the Arts. Aside from his J.T. Horns, John is a member of Latin Funk Express, and the Musicians Warehouse Big Band, which features the music of Louie Bellson, and can be heard performing regularly with Louie around the Bay Area.
